GKC Architecture & Design: A New Look for a Bold Vision

How can a rebranding drive a strategic shift and inject new energy into a well-established company? Montreal-based GKC Architecture & Design, founded more than 65 years ago, offers a striking example.

Specializing in large-scale industrial, commercial, and technology projects, GKC has undergone a remarkable transformation since 2020 under the leadership of CEO and Principal Partner Fernando Lozano. Rapid growth, expanded service offerings, and establishing a presence in Toronto, Vancouver, and Los Angeles to support its North American expansion have all led to one clear goal: aligning the firm’s image, culture, and vision.

An Identity Rooted in Collective Ambition

GKC’s rebrand is far more than a visual refresh, it’s the result of an in-depth process to redefine the company’s culture in collaboration with the entire team. This process reaffirmed shared values of leadership, collaboration, and excellence, and translated them into a clear, consistent brand identity.

Developed in partnership with Beauvoir, who guided GKC through its brand strategy, and Locomotive, which designed the brand identity and website, the new visual was built to stand the test of time, adapt across physical and digital platforms, and above all, reflect the firm’s very essence: structured, human, and high-performing.

Workspaces that Reflect GKC’s Culture

GKC’s new Montreal headquarters, located in a former industrial building on Gary-Carter Street, fully embodies this transformation. More than just a workplace, these offices serve as a spatial manifesto of the company’s vision.

Designed to foster creativity, dialogue, and well-being, the spaces feature generous open areas, seamless signage, a refined palette, and meticulous attention to detail. Highlights include an innovation lab, recording studio, quiet pods, a bright open-plan workspace, and a cafeteria designed for gathering and collaboration.

Bringing the Brand to Life Every Day

At GKC, the brand is something you experience before you see it. It takes shape in the design of the spaces, in communication tools, and in interactions. Design becomes a powerful driver of engagement, loyalty, and lasting impact with clients and partners.
